Does anyone know if Microsoft's Systems Center Orchestrator has the ability to make web services calls to the WFA web service interface?

Hi Brad,

I don't have any personal experience with System Center, but WFA does have a web services WSDL that any orchestrator can leverage. We've done some integration work with customers for HPOO, and BMC Atrium Orchestrator, as well as some custom portal integration. With WFA 1.1.1 SOAP is available, and WFA 2.0 due out at the end of this year REST is being added. If you'd like to read up a bit more on what is available, please check out the Web Services Primer document HERE.

Hope this helps,

Kevin.

Brad,

if this is a customer that uses SCOM and the Opalis Orchestrator, it might be better to use the integration plugin we have (OnCommand Plugin for SCOM, used to be called Appliance Watch Pro): http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/software?product=OnCommand+Plug-in+%28Formerly+ApplianceWatch%29&platform=Microsoft+SCOM

This brings tight integration in a real SCOM style. Not as flexible as WFA but the customer might still prefer is as it is a more integrated approach.

Regards

Hendrik
