Is Host Agent necessary on OSSV primary hosts for OCUM ?

Hello guys,

Our environment:

OCUM 5.1
OSSV 3.0.1 on W2k8 R2

Reading installation documents and release notes and ... I'm not able to know if Host Agent is necessary in our environment.

Sometimes it is written that Host Agent is necessary, sometimes the version does not need it anymore ...

Moreover, installers and configuration wizards of OSSV and OCUM do not enforce Host Agent installation / configuration.

In which case Host Agent is mandatory ?

What are the features that Host Agent provides for OSSV hosts managed by OCUM ?

Hi,

NHA is not mandatory for an OSSV installation. But it does provides the ability to remotely ( from NMC of OCUM) to start or stop OSSV services instead of logging into each OSSV host individually.

Other than that NHA doesnt provide any functionality to OSSV
