System Manager: CPU Utilization?

One of my customers is reporting that they are observing a storage controller CPU increase of 10% when they bring up System Manager and the dashboard for a system. Is this an expected behavior? Any options that can be set to diminish the impact to the controller CPU?

Currently System Manger polls for performance counters every 5 seconds, and currently there are no parameters to adjust this poll time.. 10% seems high. I just ran a test, and saw 2%-5% CPU hit. How many volumes are on the monitored system?

This particular system has 6 volumes & 3 aggregates (16TB capacity). The system is running Data ONTAP 7.2.3. They have noticed that the spike is occurring when they are on the dashboard page & is due to the performance charts.

I've suggested to the customer that they see if they experience the same condition when using "Filer-At-A-Glance" on the same system. However, they would like to see an option to turn off/on the performance charts and adjust the polling interval.
