Python file-read-file: Help to convert output from HEX to ASCII

~~Hi, I'm using Python api file-read-file to reade the /etc/messages but I'm getting the following error:~~

~~<results errno="14006" reason="Can't read more than 1MB at a time on file" status="failed"></results>~~

UPDATE:

I found out that the file-read-file API give the outcome data as HEX. Is there anyway to get the results in ASCII when using sprintf()? Is there any other way to print the results in ASCII instead of HEX?
