We've been using an old version of the NetApp SDK in our product for years to execute API calls. When one of our clients upgraded to 8.3.1 our product started receiving "Start tag expect, '<' not found. Error code: 13001." We decided to try upgrading to NMSDK 5.4 to fix this issue. It did. The only issue is that NMSDK seems to require Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update/MSVCR80.dll. This seems very weird to us since older versions of the C Library in the SDK did not require MSVCR80.dll. Ontap SDK 3.5.1" was statically linked but new version of NMSDK 5.4 is not statically linked to msvcr80.dll.

Is there any way around the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update/MSVCR80.dll dependancy when using the new NMSDK 5.4?
