    <description>&lt;P&gt;You need to boot regardless just to do the option 4, or the 44/4a. &amp;nbsp;But once booted 8.3+ goes into node setup, where it prompts for the mgmt port, ip, subnet, and gateway. &amp;nbsp;Then you can discover that address in system setup and use that tool to configure the simulator.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Another option would be to re-enable dhcp, in which case a lif called "mgmt_auto" will be created on the mgmt port and assigned a DHCP address. &amp;nbsp;But you still have to install ONTAP first.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I am using System setup for testing purpose for installing Simulated ontap 8.3 on ESXi5.5.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It is possible to install simulate ontap on ESXI by using system setup?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;please help me on urgent basis.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;How to discover simlator by using IP ranges.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;it mostly works but out of the box it wont grab a DHCP address &amp;nbsp;instead go through node setup at the console to assign the mgmt ips then you should be able to go through discovery &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You'll see it in the loader if you printenv. &amp;nbsp;bootarg.init.dchp.disable=true. &amp;nbsp;set it to false. &amp;nbsp; bootarg.bsdportname sets the mgmt port.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
