Make sure the e0a and e0b ports of both instances are connected to the same vmnet network, and when you configure the cluster interfaces on the first node, be sure to set the MTU to 1500. VMware's desktop hypervisors don't support jumbo frames.

I installed Netapp Ontap 8.3.2 simulator on VMworkstation Player 12. The first node installed fine and I was able to creat a cluster. I then installed node 2 and attempted to join the cluster created by node one; however, it fails everytime.

I am not able to ping the intercluster IP addresses (the IP addresses on interface e0a and e0b) on node 2 from node 2 itself, but I can ping the intercluster interfaces on node 1 from node 1.

Can someone assist me in solving this issue? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
