FAS 2020A, ONTAP 8.0.1 and VMware VAAI support

Hi all,

in VMware SAN Compatibility Guide there is VAAI support for FAS2000 series. But only for ONTAP 8.0.1:

"Data ONTAP 8.0.1 supports only the FAS2040 model within the FAS2000 Series."

Does someone know if VAAI resp. ONTAP 8.0.1 will be supported for FAS2020A?

I think VAAI will remain an ONTAP 8 feature only.

So no luck on FAS2020.

VAAI is currently only support in 8.0.1 and last I had heard it wasn't planned to be added into the 7.x codeline. So the FAS2020 doesn't support VAAI currently and I don't believe it will in the future. You would have to replace the controllers with FAS2040 controllers if you wanted that support today.
