    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think the syntax for the config_mpath command is --access &amp;lt;filerXX&amp;gt;:&amp;lt;password&amp;gt; , though I do not think that is the issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You also need to add the esx host to the hosts.equiv file on the filer&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The format in the file is&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;lt;ESX_host&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; root&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If it still complains about dns, try adding the filer names/ip's the /etc/hosts on the ESX server&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Mark&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

Is the firewall turned on?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am assuming this is an esx host in which case you could install the NetApp VSC see this post&amp;nbsp; &lt;A _jive_internal="true" href="https://community.netapp.com/message/18638" target="_blank"&gt;http://communities.netapp.com/message/18638&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;With it you can set the MPIO settings&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
