topic How can I use VSC to back up and restore the VMWare vCenter Server Appliance? in VMware Solutions Discussions

I am running the vCenter Server Appliance (VCSA) in my ESXi 5.5-environment. I am looking for the recommended solution for backing up and restoring the appliance itself. I have installed the Virtual Storage Console 5.0 and know that I can use this for backing up and restoring VMs and datastores. But if I use VSC to backup the VCSA, how can I restore a failed appliance? From where can I start the restore if the vCenter is unavailable?

Best regards,

Thor-Egil
