When connecting VSC 2.1.1 to a vFiler do you have to add the physical controller(vFiler 0) to the Provisioning and Cloning plugin to enable NFS datastore provisioning? When I adding only the vFiler in the Provisioning and Cloning plugin the option to create an NFS datastore is greyed out. Only iSCSI can be chosen. Maybe I am misunderstanding the purpose of a vFiler but I thought one of it's purposes was to limit access to the physical controller.

A direct-connect vfiler cannot add volumes to itself so you are limited to iSCSI LUNs in that case. To enable NFS provisioning, you must add vFiler0 and select the vfiler you would like to provision the new storage to.
