A reading of 25 or higher for DAVG in ESXTOP is a good indicator of a disk latency caused by the array. Not much use if you already know the problem is with the array....

We are looking at ways to debug slow datastores. Right now we are using a linux VM and standard linux disk speed tests on the local VM's disk, but does anyone know if a better way?

Are you looking for OS to disk speeds, or Guest to Guest speeds?

Also, are these just Linux guests or Windows also?
