We have been seting up VSC, VASA and SRA to use with SRM for vCenter 6.5.1, our ONTAP is 9.2P2.

We deployed the SRM and VASA, VSC & SRA appliances and had to install the netapp_sra_7.1_ontap_64bit plugin. The SRM appliance is Windows 2012.

The install would start and move through the options, at one point a command window pops up becuase a Perl script ins being executed, after it closes an new
dialogue box displays stating "installation was partially successful"

In Event viewer under Windows logs > Application there were multiple entries for MsiInstaller at the same time.

The Error entry was:
Product NetApp storage Replication Adapter 7.1 -- Error 1722. There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finishas expected....
The error had event ID 11722

Information entry:
Product: NetApp Storage Replication adapter 7.1 -- Installation failed. Event ID 11708

Information entry:
Windows Installer installed product, Product Name: NetApp Storage Replicaiton Adapter 7.1, Product Version: 7.1.0.0.
Product Language 1033, manufacturer: NetApp, installation success or error status 1603. Event ID 1033

To get around this right click on Start and select Command Window (Admin), cd to the folder the plugin is and run the plug-in.

The installation will completed successfully.

Right click on the .msi file does not have a "Run as administrator" option.

Are you logged in as administrator. You mentioned that you could finish install successfully.

Is SRM able to detect the SRA now?

I was not logged in as administrator, the plugin installed successfully by running the .msi from the command window that was started as Admin.

Thank you

Thanks, Dan. I had the exact same issue. Something related to whatever the PERL.exe was attempting to accomplish caused the install to fail when run normally (as an Administrator on the server). Ran just fine with an elevated command prompt.
