VSC Backup

Hello !

I have question using the VVOL with VSC (Virtual Storage Console)as below.

ONTAP9.3.P7
VMWare 6.7
VSC9.7P2

I want to use VMware Clone or VMware Snapshot for VSC backup. Is this the right way?

Make sure not to place the VSC server on a VVOL. Put it on a flexvol. Then backup like other VMs. Or schedule volume snapshots.

You'll probably want to upgrade ONTAP to 9.5.P8 (or higher) or 9.6.P4 (or higher) if you're using vVols. ONTAP has significant vVol fixes in those releases.
