There is only one caveat to the previous answers. If you are using vVols, you need to do a policy mapping in SRM to say that policy A on site A maps to policy B on site B.

Lets assume you are using AFF_Default on site A, and FAS_Default on site B. They won't automatically map. So you need to go into SRM and make the connection.

Hi, We have NetApp AFF400 at DC site ad NetApp FAS2650 storage at DR site. They are running the same operating system (ONTAP 10.1)

Is it possible to configure SRA-based replication with two different model storage at DC & DR?

SRM Version 8.5, ONTAP Version 10.1.

Different models shouldn't be a problem as long as the the ONTAP version and snapmirror between the two systems is compatible.

Agree, no problem. Make sure your ONTAP version are in sync. And with the cloud offerings from NetApp, you can even do a snapmirror to Azure or AWS and spin your VMs up in the public cloud!
