Hello,

I'm new in NETAPP world!

Is someone willing to share with me links where I can find architecture docs or slides?

In http://support.netapp.com/documentation/productsatoz/index.html there is only setup and install guides but not concept of AFF8080.

Thx.

Best regards.

NTA.

Hardware block diagrams for the FAS8080 platform are only available under NDA. Please contact your local NetApp field office for details.

Is there any specific you wish to know? ie, how certain failures are protected against? or just an over-all block diagram?

NDA = Non-Disclosure Agreement.

They're basically custom engineered X86_64 uEFI systems - Intel Sandy Bridge, with a controller battery backup/memory de-stage to SSD, embedded USB key for boot image. Our operating system is ONTAP, which runs on top of FreeBSD.

If you have any specific questions, we might be able to help - otherwise, it's information we don't put out in a public document
