Are You Ready for Some Football? NetApp and the NFL: Ready For Another Season of Football and Data

Lace up your cleats and put on your favorite team’s jersey! Tonight the National Football League kicks off another exciting season with a game in Seattle, Washington. This kickoff marks another season of the NFL’s relationship with NetApp.

That’s right. NetApp is the official data storage provider of the NFL.

When you’re watching a football game, you probably don’t think about what’s going on behind the scenes in an IT department. Perhaps you’re with friends or family and enjoying game-time snacks. You’re busy cheering for your favorite team. Why would you think about IT? The truth is that IT and data are impacting your game experience more you may know. Data is changing almost every aspect of football today.

The relationship between NetApp and the NFL all began when we teamed up to manage the massive amounts of data needed to be collected, accessed, protected, and shared during Super Bowl XLVII.

In 2014 NetApp once again supported the NFL’s data storage game plan for Super Bowl XLVIII, which attracted 111.5 million viewers in the U.S. and made the game the most-viewed television broadcast of any kind in American history.

So, are you ready for some football? We are!
