Hello Team,

In SMSQL, do you support the following SQL2K8 user database deployment?

Single SQL Server and multiple database files deployment on different storage system controller(cluster partner) volumes.

ex)

Database 1 - controller A(partner B) - System DB(D:\)

Database 1 - controller A(partner B) - Data file1(E:\)

Database 1 - controller A(partner B) - Data log file1(F:\)

Database 1 - controller B(partner A) - Data file2(G:\)

Database 1 - controller B(partner A) - Data log file2(H:\)

Database 1 - controller B(partner A) - Snap Info(I:\)

I plan using FCP and SSI.

Thanks and regards.

Takahiro,

That is a supported configuration. I like to ensure that the SQL Server workloads are balanced across the available storage controllers. This helps to ensure reliance and throughput for the SQL Server instance. To get an idea of what other configurations you can have please check out TR-3696 http://media.netapp.com/documents/tr-3696.pdf.

Thanks

John
