After apply the role for the db, only new content is send to the blobstore.

The costumer has still 120GB content in db.

With SMSP Version 6 was this only one button in the rule, I missing this function!

Thanks!

Regards

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

The Real-time Storage Manager allows to externalize BLOB content based on criteria defined in the rule, upon file upload into SharePoint.

However, to externalize existing content, you will have to configure a rule for Scheduled Storage Manager and run the scheduled manager job, either manual or scheduled.

The SMSP 7.0/7.1 Installation and Administration Guide should be able to walk you through the entire process to configure Scheduled Storage Manager.

Cheryl

Hello Cheryl

with SnapManager Version 6 only one rule was needed (extend also for existing content) and now we get an new version and i need for the same function two products?

The Real Time Storage Manager is for free in the SnapManager and the Scheduled Storage Manager, also ?

Hello Stefan,

With SMSP 7.x, Storage Manager in turn consists of the Real-time Storage Manager (externalize on file upload) and Scheduled Storage Manager (externalize existing BLOB data) mapped to SMSP 6.x functionality for Extender and Archiver respectively. Yu need to configure separate rules for RTSM and SSM accordingly.

Storage Manager comes as an additional module that needs to be licensed separately per SharePoint Web Front End (WFE).

In case you are upgrading from SMSP 6.x, engage NetApp Glocal Support (NGS) who will assist on licensing the respective modules.

Regards,

Cheryl
