Which platform should we implement SMO on?

If I understand correct, SMO can be implmented on either Linux or Window platform. Orace is running on Linux here in our shop. So, which platform should we implement SMO on? and why?

I think we should use Linux version, only because Oracle is running on Linux, but I cannot tell why in-depth. Wish somebody who has experience here can provide any reasons.

Thanks!

Sahana, / All

The following is excerpted from TR-3761:

"SnapManager 3.4 for Oracle is qualified to work on RHEL / OL 7.x operating system."

Does that mean Oracle Linux is supported OS version for SMO, not REDHAT Linux?

Please advise. Thank you!

A good start is to research your environment in the Interoperability Matrix Tool (http://mysupport.netapp.com/matrix/#welcome) to see supported architectures and the number of BERTs/BUGs/Issues/Unsupported features that exist with your exact setup.
