Hello

I want modify the snapshot policy on volumes . i would like to assign another policy to volumes . if i modified . what will happen to the old snapshots on volume !

I heard for the old snapshots i need to delete them manually ! and their rotention would not follow with new snapshot policy that i created . (i would like to change the lables in new snapshot policy as well )

Is there any way to change the snapshot policy and lables , that dont have to delete the olds ones manually ?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

for local snap policy, (DP is different story)  if you using different label you will have to go back and delete all the snapshot with these not-longer-in-use labels.

it's easy enogh yo do it by command:

snap delete -vserver * -volume * -snapshot *YourOldLabel*
