Hello,

I have sc 4.1 on SuSe.

I try to update a qtree based snapmirror.

This is my init:

snapmirror initialize -S crhpnetappp02:/vol/sapdata_BIP/p1 /vol/sapdata_BIP/dr1

Transfer started. Monitor progress with 'snapmirror status' or the snapmirror log.

This is my update:

snapmirror update -S crhpnetappp02:/vol/sapdata_BIP/p1 /vol/sapdata_BIP/dr1

Doing the update wit SC I get the SCF-00017 Error.

Volume based snapmirror works fine. This used to work with SC 3.6 & 4.0!

Thx

Ralf,

Qtree SnapMirror is not supported in Snap Creator.

Traditionally it has worked, but it has never been a supported configuration.

Lots of changes to this code were needed for clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 support in Snap Creator 4.1.

Apparently one of these changes broke QSM.

Since it wasn't supported it wasn't in our group of test cases and we were not aware that it broke until after the 4.1 release.

Engineering and Product Management are evaluating the options at this time.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

John

Hi John,

-->Thanks a lot for your prompt answer.

Í was not aware that QSM was not supported. However, we need this feature for a asynchronous SnapMirror between two Fujitsu FlexFrames (DR setup). Currently, I have downgraded to SC 4.0p1. There it works.

Thx

Ralf,

Is there anything you are missing by using SC 4.0 instead of SC 4.1?

What version of ONTAP are you using?

Thanks!

John

Hi John,

Is there anything you are missing by using SC 4.0 instead of SC 4.1?

The project, we are currently working in, is fine with SC 4.0p1.

However, we face another project where we need SC 4.1. They use SAP HANA & Sybase ASE there.

Thx

Ralf
