When we try to install the OnCommand Host Service VMWare Plug-in the installation start off just fine.

When it is time to install the OnCommand Host Service VMWare Plug-in it starts the installation and then hangs. It just keeps saying 1 second left and nothing happens.

When I look at the Server.log I see the following:

Now I am by no means an expert or even a novice of java. So any help that can be provided would be great.

We are totally lost here. We tried installing on the VCenter server, we tried installing on a different server, even tried 32bit and 64bit. Nothing seems to work and we keep getting the same results as above.

We made the installation account admin in Vcenter and in Oncommand just to make sure.

Followed the documentation for installation but still the same results.

Is there anyone who might have an idea where I can seek to find a solution.

Hi Darren,

Could you check if there is an open, but invisible cmd.exe *32

If there is, kill it.

Has it ever worked?

And, can you PLEASE check if the kb2632503 is installed?

Thanks,

Patrick von Bredow

Patrick von Bredow recommendation works, Start the Task Manager on the server where you installing the Host Package and go to Processes and kill "cmd.exe *32" process. The installation should now progress, although it still takes a while to complete. Just be patience.
