After installing DFM on a host ( windows or unix ) - typically as the local root or administrator user ... what user context does the application run under? is it still root / administrator or can it be changed to another user?
If you've installed the application as a root/administrator - DFM would
automatically register that user as an "administrator with full
global-write permissions". You can add more users (local users/active
dir. Users) under the following location
Control center -> Setup -> Administrative users
Hope that helps.
Thanks and regards
This is more less what privliage the application runs under, for example in Windows the appication would run as SYSTEM. In unix it would run as either ROOT or NOBODY.
the customer is asking if there is a way to change this to some other user
On Windows: have you tried editing the services (at services.msc)?
On Linux, Have you tried "sudo -u USER dfm service start"?
Hope that helps
okay ... we will give this one a shot 🙂
