Reporting volume usage with a description/customer name

From Operations Manager, I am producing a simple volume capacity report which displays the available and total disk space of each volume. Is there a way to somehow associate a description with each volume so our billing department can correlate the volume with the customer that is using it? I setup a group for each customer and added their volumes to their respective groups, but this would require me to run individual reports for each customer. I checked some of the docs but I couldn't find any information; maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

Thanks.

Maybe the custom comment field can help you.  Try adding custom fields and create a custom report to include it along with all details you may need.

What do your volume names look like?  You don't have to use the defaults of 'vol1', 'vol2', etc.  You can rename volumes to have more descriptive names and can even do it while the volumes are online (NFS clients will need to have their /etc/fstab file updated and remount the volume.)

Enterprise customers often have aggregates and volume names like this:

aggr_Chicago_FC10K_01

/vol/Chicago__bldg1_accounting
