from netapp perspective, is there any link where i can see the maximum supported IOPs of the disks based on the type of disks and RPM.

commonly used numbers can be found here:
Those numbers are for 3.5" drives.
Due to smaller platter diameter a 2.5" 10K RPM SAS drive may deliver up to 170 IOPS.
NetApp currently sells 3.5" 7.2K RPM SATA / NL-SAS drives and 2.5" 10K RPM SAS drives.
In the past we also used to sell 3.5" 15K RPM drives and some may still be around.
A note of caution - it's dangerous to size a system based only on drive IOPS capabilites. Many other factors come into play like RAID overhead or controller cache. Also the workload plays a significant role. That's why storage vendors like us have sizing tools to determine system capabilites. Relying solely on IOPS might not yield what you are looking for.
