Windows SAN Policy

This system has Windows SAN hosts connected to it and may experience issues accessing LUNs after upgrading as described in this kb article(https://kb.netapp.com/support/s/article/disks-show-as-offline-on-rebooting-windows-2008-host-after-a-data-ontap-upgrade?language=en_US). To avoid this issue set the Windows SAN policy to online all.

I just wanted to know if its really going to effect my system with iscsi luns. Anybody have really faced this.

We are going to upgrade from Data ONTAP 8.1.3P1 7-Mode to Data ONTAP 8.2.4P6 7-Mode.

Hi

if you are using Multi-pathing and upgrading to the version you mentioned earlier - that's going to impact you (as the revision on the disk revision displayed to windows is different on the two versions you mentioned, it will impact you

https://kb.netapp.com/support/s/article/ka21A0000000dRiQAI/what-does-the-revision-number-of-a-lun-provided-by-data-ontap-signify?language=en_US)

All the Production upgrades on SAN environments that i did so far were only withing 8.1.x. so i haven't had the chance to cross it yet and confirmit's validity.

Want to know  if its gonna impact iscsi luns as well.

And other than workaround in the article we have no option that we actually will not impact.

Just we have to face this circumstance I am I right. So if that is the case I have to go ahead and inform the team to follow instructions in the article when they face issue.?????

And is this reoccured issue when ever rebooting the windows hosts.
