If you want to reinstall Data ONTAP, you need to do it on both controllers.

Hi Ronaldo,

Does your FAS2040-2 is serving production data?

If you have to formatting the disk, you may wish to do it one controller at a time with cf enable to keep the app running at half the speed.

Not sure the reason you wish to formatting. Did you open a case with NetApp support?

Good luck

Henry

Hi Ronaldo,

The reset process should wipe out everything, then you can go through the setup to start from scratch.

Thanks

You can also "halt -c factory" (7-Mode) from advanced mode... then destroy and zero any data aggregates after...sometimes can be quicker.  But option 4a will do it too.

Anyone know if there is an cDOT  option similar  to this,

I have a pool  of FAS2240  systems which are used for reseller demos  and I have been looking fro an easy way to get them set back to "Factory Default".

Have been using the  reboot  Crtl - C  => option 4  , but  have to do that  on each controller.

Regards,

Richard
