number of volumes and aggregate in dfm diag command

My customer used DFM3.4.1 on Solaris10.

In GUI(Web Browser), number of aggregates are 5 and number of Volumes are 52.

I checked all FAS and above is collect.

But, dfm diag command on DFM server reported following,

-----------------------------------

Object Type Count
Administrator 2
Aggregate 10  <=twice the number of GUI
FCP Target 5
Host 3
Initiator Group 5
Interface 68
Lun Path 13
Mgmt Station 1
Network 2
Qtree 28
Role 14
SnapMirror Rels 0
SnapVault Rels 0
UserQuota 0
vFilers 0
Volume 104 <=twice the number of GUI
Zapi Hosts 3
----------------------------------------

I think that snapshots of aggregates and volumes are counted in dim diag command.

So twiece the number of GUI.

GUI report doesn't include snapshots of aggregates and volumes.

Is it collect?

And, my customer upgraded DFM form 3.4.1 to 3.7.1.

Ater DFM upgared to 3.7.1, the dfm diag command is following,

-----------------------------------

Object Type                    Count
Administrator                  2
Aggregate                      5 <=equal to GUI

Disk                           1045
DP Policy                      20
DP Schedule                    18
DP Throttle                    2
FCP Target                     5
Host                           3
Initiator Group                5
Interface                      68
Lun Path                       13
Mgmt Station                   1
Network                        2
OSSV Hosts                     0
Primary Storage Systems        0
Qtree                          28
Role                           27
Secondary Storage Systems      0
SnapMirror Rels                0
SnapVault Rels                 0
UserQuota                      0
vFilers                        0
Volume                         52 <=equal to GUI
Zapi Hosts                     3

-----------------------------------------

I think that snapshots of aggregates and volumes aren't counted dfm diag command at DFM3.7.1.

So command output is equal to GUI.

Is it collect too?

Thanks in advance.

You are right on both counts. In 3.4.1 snapshots were also included in the count, which was fixed sometime between then and 3.7.1.

Is there a reason for you to move to 3.7.1 instead of 4.0.1 ?

Is it because Solaris is not supported after 3.7.1 ?

As we have made tremendous performance improvment's since 3.7.1

Yes, exactly.

My customer is using DFM on Solaris.

From Solaris to other platforms, it can be easily migrated, just by doing a restore of the dfm backup.

Is there any specific reason for not migrating from solaris?Given that its not a supported platform any more ?

Yes.
My customer will continue to use the Solaris.
They have no Windows and Linux.
If given the opportunity, I would make a suggestion to migrate.
