i have been looking all over the internet and couldn't find the solution so there i'm.
is there a way to display the orginal volume size before it started to autogrow?

i think by default the Min-autosize field contain the original size
vol show -fields Min-autosize
if you sending AutoSupport you can see it up to 6 months back. NetApp personals and partners can see it up to a year on their SmartSolve portal. and i know NetApp also have an archive serach where they used to be able see it for unlimited time.

that was my thought in the first place.
i've made some test on my side and the problem is that if somehow we do tringer the following command, the line Min-autosize would unlikely change...:
vol autosize -vserver « nom du vserver » -volume «nom du volume » -minimum-size
vol show -vserver « nom du vserver » -volume «nom du volume » -instance
