Hi,
I'm trying to use two primary vscan server for our netapp filer but I can only use one primary and one secondary.
As can be seen in the manual it is possible to use multiple primary vscan server.
How can I do this in Data Ontap 8.2.2 (FAS8020) ?
Thx for your help.

Yes it's possible to have multiple primary vscan servers. Just configure the vscan servers with the filer information and allow them to connect. I've never needed to add them on the file server side. I know we looked at the 'secondaries' feature a while back but deterimed it didn't give us any advantage and instead just allow them all to connect to the filers themsevles.

Hi,
Yes, it's possible to have two primary vscan servers. Two primary vscan servers creates a round-robin where both servers split the scanning load.
For more details, refer the KB article https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?id=3013679&page=content&locale=en_US
Thanks
