Rolled Back Filer Head Upgrade, Now Getting Interconnect Error

Our interconnect between filers is broken, upon booting our FAS3040 FilerA we see:

Ethernet c0a: Link up

Ethernet c0b: Link up

But booting our FAS3240 FilerB we see:

Interconnect link 0 is UP

We had gotten as far as moving the expansion cards from our FilerA to our new FAS3240 FilerA, but determined the OS was too old so before booting past the 'ctl+c' area we shutdown the unit.  After putting the expansion cards back into FilerA, we booted it back up and now the interconnect information has been hosed...how can we regenerate the interconnect info?

We discovered our PAM-II card had a cached NVRAM and was loading it over the native root vol.
