Performance in HFC

Hi all.

Is there a known performance impact if I set up a volume with a high file count?

I know there are NetApp documentation where folder structures are mentioned as a potential impact.

But what if I was able to comply with the folder structure best practices, would I be able to keep 20 million files in a volume? I am in a situation where I would prefer a file count as high as 50 million (please dont ask why, let's say it's for legacy application reasons) in one single volume.

Are there any official NetApp documents where recommendations are made with regards to the performance of the filer itself if file count reaches above a certain number (i.e. 10 million or similar?).

Thanks
