ONTAP Recipes: Prioritize business critical applications using QoS Min

ontap_recipes

Did you know you can…

Prioritize business critical applications using QoS Min?

QoS allows you to isolate business-critical applications to ensure they meet required performance. To set a QoS Min of 40,000 IOPS for a business-critical application:

1. Log in to OnCommand System Manager.

2. Select the volume provisioned for the business-critical application, then select Actions, Storage QoS.

3. Set the Minimum Throughput to 40,000 IOPS.

4. From the Performance Dashboard, check that the QoS Min of 40,000 IOPS has been met and that latency has been reduced.

Note that competing workloads may show higher latencies and reduced throughput.
