Is there any views or evdience as to what the performance/benefits would be to host DFM on a x64 bit paltform over a x32

or does Sybase ASA constrain any performance advantages ?

Thank in advance

Hi,

64-bit platforms benefit applications in two ways,

1. Faster computations for values larger than 32-bit
2. Larger address space for the processes

First advantage is not very prominent in case of DFM because DFM is not computation intensive.
However, larger address space will benefit many DFM services e.g. server, monitor, eventd, and SQL.

Thanks,

Santosh
