Edit Button on AutoSupport Page in System Manager 2.1

When I click the "Edit" button to change the AutoSupport configuration, nothing happens. The button image changes showing that it was pressed. The rest of the buttons on the page work fine. I confirmed that my PC met all the system requirements. I thought it might be a conflict between JRE 6 and 7 since I had both installed, but uninstalling JRE 7 didn't help. Well, I decided to roll back to 2.02 and the button works flawlessly. Of course, a search of the support site returns everything written by any NetApp employee for every product offered EXCEPT System Manager. LOL. I'm opening a case, but I wanted to check if anyone has seen this issue.

Yep, have been seeing the exact same issue on all customer instances of System Manager 2.1. No problem with versions prior.

We haven't logged a case yet, so would be curious to hear how you go.

They were able to replicate it and I received the following response.

This is the Documented Issue experienced:

http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=660681

We are aware that the public report is bare, but the “WATCH this Bug” is available for you to get alerts when there is an update.

This has been addressed for a future release.  Please bring any questions concerning the future release to your account representative.

The workarounds are:

1.      Use OCSM 2.0.2 (as you have)

2.      Use OCSM 2.1 with a browser other than Internet Explorer

Aren't you using IE9?

I had the same case and solved it with Google Chrome and IE10.

Try that if you can.

I am currently having this problem. My browser is IE9, please how can I change to chrome or mozilla?

To change the browser in System Manager, you can do the following:

  1. Launch System Manager.
  2. Go to Tools -> Options.
  3. In the Browser Path text box, enter the path of Chrome/Mozilla.

If you are still using System Manager 2.1, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of System Manager (v3.0 or v3.1).

You can download the latest version from NetApp support site -

Version 2.0 and 2.1 are in limited support mode. Are their any hindrances in upgrading to the latest SM version i.e. 3.1RC1?

Thanks

Kunal

No hindrance at all. I will try it out right away.

Please I am having difficulty copying existing data from servers to the provisioned space. What is the best tool I can use. Current I tried using richcopy. But I receive so many messages – access denied, file used by another program, location not found etc.

I will appreciate your guide.
