Error in discovering clariion array

Hello!!

I have configured a datasource in sanscreen 6.1.3 to discover an EMC clar array. (latest navisphere version is installed in the sanscreen host)

I got the following error in Service insight

"Could not find Volume Name from UID on local machine"

Checked the acq logs for this particular datasource and see that recording-getall collects lot many details of the array.

Please advice.

Have one more question.

Can we discover the array with a remote host having navisphere. if so please let me know how to configure.

Ensure version 6.1.3 supports the version of the Clariion array and the version of Navisphere you are using.  Support matrix via this link, http://support.netapp.com/knowledge/docs/olio/guides/SANScreen/DS_Support_Matrix_6.1.pdf

If some features are not supported, then you may have to upgrade to a new version of SANscreen, called OnCommand Insight, to gain support.

In regards to the remote host having navisphere, what type of array is this?  More information is needed.

Hi Kerick,

The Clarion is a CX4-960 model which is a supported version. I have installed Navisphere 7.31.33.0.41 on the SANscreen host itself.

Hi becky,

The support matrix for SANscreen v6.1 http://support.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/olio/guides/SANScreen/DS_Support_Matrix_6.1.pdf does not show support for Navisphere 7.31, see page 42.

Navisphere 7.31 is supported in version 6.3 called OnCommand Insight.  You will need to upgrade SANscreen to gain support for this array and software combination.

Hi John,

Kerick is right. You have to upgrade OCI to 6.3.x version. I too have EMC clariion models they are configured smoothly without any issue in OCI 6.3.2 version.
