We dont want a OCUM server to be a single point of failure. What is the recommended way for HA of OCUM and eventually OPM as well? Preferably the 2 servers would  be in 2 separate locations. I guess we can do DB backup and restore but that is going to be a manual process. Is there a way to get them both to be active/active?

Microsoft Cluster Services.

See the 'Installing and configuring the Core Package in MSCS environ' section of the install documentation.

Hi Eugene,

That is for using MSCS cluster however I am talking about a OCUM server at different sites. Say one instance at production data center and other at the DR site. Is that doable?

Hi,

Would the use of VMWare vSphere fault tolerance be an option for ensuring your OCUM instance is highly available between sites in your environment? I'd assume you require a single instance of OCUM that is highly available between sites\datacenters without having to resort to backup\restore downtime? If so then in theory this might be an option for you depending on your vSphere\Network infrastructure and vSphere licensing as fault tolerance requires enterprise plus licensing.
