monitor.globalStatus.nonCritical:warning]: Ambient temperature is 43 C!

On one controller in newly (Friday 20080612) installed FAS2050C Dual Controller, I today encounter the following warning:

monitor.globalStatus.nonCritical:warning]: Ambient temperature is 43 C!, so Set Fan at medium speed.

Having failed to find any documentation* about this exact warning and eventually what to do, (and quessing anything other than to increase (or decrease?) the level of cooling in the server room), I wonder if you can help me (before I raise an issue with NetApp Support)?

Does "medium" mean increase or decrease?

Which of the sensors in FAS2050 trigger this warning?

Kind regards,

Soren

I have opened a support case with NetApp Support for this topic.

Will post response here.

Have received the following statement from NetApp Support (snipped):

»There is a "Bug" which makes the logs too verbose. In fact, there are 3 fan speeds, Low, Medium and High. The transition temperature between those speeds is static and cannot be configured. However, the logs show when they transition from one speed to another, which is wrong by design. The Alert can safely be ignored«.

I've asked for the bugID and I will post this here accordingly.

Kind regards,

Soren
