FlexPod Leads IDC Integrated Infrastructure

By: Dan Neault, SVP, Datacenter Solutions Group, Product Operations, NetApp

It has been an exciting few weeks for FlexPod. On June 25th, Cisco and NetApp announced FlexPod has generated $3 billion in joint sales since its launch in 2010. Today, I am excited to share that FlexPod was ranked number one in factory revenue during the first quarter of 2014 within the fast-growing Integrated Infrastructure segment as tracked within IDC's Worldwide Integrated Infrastructure & Platforms Tracker Q1 2014.

IDC tracks the overall Worldwide Integrated Infrastructure and Platforms market, showing revenues growing 38.5 percent year over year in calendar Q1, 2014. The Integrated Infrastructure portion of this market, that contains shared IT offerings like FlexPod, is growing at an astounding 69.4 percent per year. IDC also reports the market growth coming from the move to cloud, social, mobile and big data, with Integrated Systems being the means to achieve required efficiency and agility. FlexPod is a single shared platform that supports these many enterprise applications and workloads, and can serve them efficiently and cost-effectively. Our customers are choosing FlexPod to evolve their traditional IT, to the hybrid cloud and beyond.

FlexPod is a platform driving exciting new technologies like clustered Data ONTAP, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and InterCloud, plus a long list of validated workload designs with Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Citrix and other leading ISVs. The team here is proud of this distinction, pleased with our ongoing partner engagement, and thankful for our customers in helping us achieve this success.
