As the Fall weather cools things off here at the FlexPod headquarters, the business overall is heating up, with new designs coming out of the lab that incorporate the latest NetApp All-Flash and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) technologies. Together, with other new workload validations and program enhancements, they will help our partners deliver solutions to let customers achieve new levels of performance and business objectives.

FlexPod leadership has been pretty well established, with the latest recognition coming from Gartner, who positioned FlexPod as a Leader in the Integrated Systems Magic Quadrant. Other achievements include 4,100 customers, 1,100 Channel partners in 90 countries, over 100 published Success stories and over 70 validated design publications.

FlexPod Fall Payload

The prominent payload items for the Fall are the validated designs using All-Flash as well as ACI. A couple key things to note: we’re aligned with Cisco as they promote the newest ACI offerings, through blogs, events and promotional efforts.   Our new designs with All-Flash arrays let customers experience the benefits of integrated infrastructure with the optimal level of performance – the NetApp portfolio of All-Flash and Hybrid flash capabilities allow the solution to be customized with a mix of flash and spinning disk. By using a continuum of disk and Flash, FlexPod meets the specific performance requirements of a workload or the budget requirements of a customer, while still delivering the efficiency savings of a single, shared IT infrastructure platform.

Changes have FlexPod seeing Red

Big program news for FlexPod is that Red Hat is joining the Cooperative Support program.   We expect the addition of Red Hat to be especially helpful for customers using OpenStack to manage their infrastructure. They will be engaged in ensuring the supportability of new designs and are sharing a physical presence in our Cooperative Support Lab in RTP.

FlexPod Performance in Action

A recent success of ours, documented just in the time for this past World cup, was the University of Sao Paulo. They have a very large FlexPod environment, over 10 Petabytes, but more importantly one that has delivered a lot of cost savings and improved overall performance, availability and security. Watch the youtube video about the engagement here.
