Backup job not listed in vSphere

We are running VMware 4.1.0 and VSC 2.1. Due this is our first NetApp, we have created and recreated lun's to have maximum effects of dedup. We have reused the names on the lun’s during the recreating process.

During this recreating of the lun’s we have removed a lun but not its backup job. Now every night (at 3.50 am) we have an error that a backup job is faulty but when I list the jobs on the server I can’t see the backup job that errors.

The error message for L07 is:

Backupbackup_L07_20111020035000 completed with status FAILURE.
You can view the log entries at https://x.x.x.x/smvi/logViewer?id=backup_L07_20111020035000

For L7 that runns at 4.30 am it looks like this:

Backup backup_L7_20111020043001 completed with status SUCCESS.
You can view the log entries at https://x.x.x.x/smvi/logViewer?id=backup_L7_20111020043001.

The backup job that does not work is not listed on the server:

Any idea to remove this fault job?

The solution to this problem was:

  1. Go to C:\ProgramFiles\NetApp\Virtual Storage Console\smvi\server\repository.
  2. In the scheduledBackups.xml filesearch for the L07 backup job and remove the entry.
  3. Remove the backup job (same name as in the XML file above) in the C:\Program Files\NetApp\Virtual StorageConsole\smvi\server\repository\backup\jobs folder.
  4. Restart the NetApp SnapManager service
