Specification of FPolicy connection

Masa_Matsuno

Hi

I have two questions regarding the FPolicy connection with external FPolicy server.
Hopefully, someone knows these matters.

Q1. Is the event which is occurred at the volume on the node with no data LIFs sent from where?
Q2. Is it able to establish the FPolicy connection with the node which has no data LIFs?
Ex. In the SDK document it mentioned below:
 * Tries to  establish the connection with external FPolicy server with each node.
 * Once established%2C it will establish the control connection via data LIFs on each node.

Best regards,

Masa

Every node that participates on each Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) initiates a connection to an external FPolicy server (FPolicy server) using TCP/IP. Connections to the FPolicy servers are set up using node data LIFs; therefore, a participating node can set up a connection only if the node has an operational data LIF for the SVM.

hopefully helps

Hi Jeff

   Thanks!

it helps me to understand the specification of connection of FPolicy with relationship between SVM and nodes.

Best regards,

Masa
