Win7/2008 Enterprise Search, server side indexing with FAS CIFS?

Hi,

planning to implement FAS as a CIFS server - anyway to use server side indexing when using FAS? Or is that something that is possible only with W2008 file servers?

Sami - ONTAP does not support server side indexing.

Is  there an "official" statement somewhere in the documentation, white paper ,...
about that topic. I didn't find any clear note about that.

I have understood that NetApp itself doesn't do the indexing, but _maybe_ we could do it via Windows 2008 server, but how?

NetApp support directed us to Microsoft 😕
