Is the IBM Storewize V7000 on the V-Series support roadmap?

Cheers.

V7000 used to be supported, but then it was dropped. It may still be supported by the IBM N-series, not sure.

I think you may be confusing the V7000 with SVC.  SVC used to be supported.  The V7000 is a much newer product.

Thanks!

https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/blogs/ibmnas/entry/ibm_n_series_still_supports_svc_v7000?lang=en claims IBM provides support. You are correct in that the V7000 was never supported, and SVC support was dropped around the same time the V7000 came out. They do apparently share a codebase which is why IBM can support them both behind a V-series (although not with ONTAP 8.1). https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=591&uid=ssg1S1003798#_NetApp

To my knowledge IBM never supported the V7000 specifically.  They supported SVC within the same ONTAP versions and platforms that we did.  But never the V7000.

Hi Daniel,

Do you know the reason why NetApp doesn't support V7000 and SVC? Can we raise an fPVR for support V7000?

Hi All,

Is there any update on support for V7000 as yet?

It will not be supported.  It is not on our 2 year roadmap, and there are 4 other arrays that would be added before it.
