Configuring a custom server certificate for connecting to the BMC

A customer is trying to generate SSL certificate in BMC but they cannot use some characters like “-“ and “.” in CN name area.  Interestingly, they are notified about  only “$” and  “#” cannot be used.

Actually,  I’m not also sure it’s a bug or normal behavior of the SG1000 BMC module?

Hi,

Discussed offline with Tolga. There is an open BMC firmware issue for this limitation. The issue will be resolved in the next release of StorageGRID software 11.5. 11.5 will be available in the summer of 2021.
