Autogrow for NFS datastore volumes for Linux Machines

Hello Experts,

I have an activity to do and the current size of my NFS Datastore for Linux machines is 6TB. Linux folks requesting to make it 8TB because they will be doing multiple VM snapshots. Do I have to make it 8TB or should I trust the NFS auto grow up to 8TB configured in the volume for Linux.? I'm a bit confuse and not sure if VMWARE also sees auto grow on Netapp volume. Please advise, thanks in advance.

NFS auto-grow should work fine if auto-grow is enabled (with auto-grow max size defined appropriately) and the containing aggregate can supply more space on demand. However, if you are concerned and thinking about it, especially if there is sudden spike of usage, it is better to size it to 8TB, as you will be in more control with extra space already allocated.
