Hello All,

Hope all is fine at your end. Is anyone out there who simulated ifgrp and vlans on netapp 9.12 simulator? Will much appreciate if someone can explain the setup. Thank you.

Hi,

Yes. You can use System Manager or the CLI to create VLANs and interfaces groups on the ONTAP simulator.

Interface groups, also known as port bonding or trunking, join one or more network interfaces together to balance the load and provide redundancy.
VLANs allow you to segregate traffic on a single physical network into multiple logical networks. VLANs can be accessed through individual network interfaces or through interface groups.
All of the network ports assigned to an interface group must reside on the same cluster node. Use multiple LIFs or VIPs to spread the load across multiple cluster nodes.

All of this is covered in the ONTAP Cluster Administration course from NetApp Learning Services.

Enjoy

I don't think I ever tested (end-2-end) creating ifgrps/vlans on Simulators. There is a similar question covered in this forum threads.
