Earlier this year we posted about the introduction of Amazons file system client for S3 “Mountpoint for Amazon S3 alpha release with StorageGRID”. This alpha release supported read only access and worked very well for sequential read workloads. Mountpoint is now GA and supports deletes and new file writes. Mountpoint and StorageGRID are still fully compatible. If you have a need for a highly sequential read or write filesystem on top of S3, mountpoint may be the right option for your workload.
