Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

Hi,

Can FAS3240 support flash pool with 3 SSD only?

Thanks

Alex

Re: Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

My understanding is you need the same amount of SSD's on each head of a HA pair.

Re: Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

No, you do not. Same as you do not need the same disk configuration

Re: Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

Thanks,

Sorry for misleading,  I mean each controller have 3 SSD disks for flash pool, can 3240 HA support this flash pool configuration
(1 data + 2 Parity)?

Re: Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

Hi, Thanks. I do have a config question. This is my first time using SSD’s NetApp setup the filer with half the SSD’s on one controller and half on the other. I am trying to figure out if I should keep all the SSD’s on one controller or spread them across two?

Re: Flash Pool SSD on FAS3240

It does support it. That is the configuration I was thinking of. The SSD’s don’t need a spare as I understand it.
